Privacy — More Mindful

This Privacy Policy explains how More Mindful ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the More Mindful iOS app (the "App").

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and sign-in provider (email/password, Google, or Sign in with Apple).

Content you create. Journal entries and mood check-ins, tasks and calendar events you add or sync, focus session history and goals, chat messages with the in-app assistant (LIA), and an optional profile photo.

Data from permissions you grant. If you allow access, we use:

Calendar and Reminders — to show and sync your events and tasks.
Microphone — to record and transcribe voice journal entries.
Apple Music — to play music during focus, meditation, and sleep sessions.
Notifications — to send reminders and gentle nudges.

You control each of these individually in Settings or in iOS Settings, and the App works with reduced functionality if you decline.

Purchase information. Subscription status and purchase history are managed by Apple and our subscription platform (RevenueCat); we do not see or store your payment card details.

Automatically collected information. Basic diagnostic and device information (e.g. app version, crash logs) used to keep the App reliable.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide core features: syncing your journal, tasks, calendar, mood, and focus data across your devices.
To power the in-app AI assistant and journal insights — journal text and chat messages you send to the assistant are processed by our backend and a third-party AI provider (OpenAI) solely to generate a response or analysis, and are not used to train third-party models.
To transcribe voice journal entries you record.
To manage your account, subscription, and customer support requests.
To send notifications you've opted into.
To maintain security and prevent abuse (e.g. fraud and bot detection on our backend).

3. How We Store and Share Information

Your data is stored in Firebase (Google Cloud) under an account tied to your unique user ID, protected by access rules that only allow you to read and write your own data.

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers that help us run the App, including:

Firebase / Google Cloud — authentication and data storage/sync.
RevenueCat — subscription and purchase management.
OpenAI (via our backend) — generating AI chat responses, journal analysis, and voice transcription.
Apple — for Sign in with Apple, Apple Music playback, App Store purchases, and push notifications/Live Activities.
Google Sign-In — if you choose to sign in with Google.

These providers are only permitted to use your data to perform services on our behalf.

4. Your Choices

Manage permissions — turn calendar, reminders, microphone, Apple Music, or notification access on or off at any time in Settings or iOS Settings.
Export your data — from Settings → Export My Data, download a copy of your journal entries, tasks, mood logs, focus sessions, calendar events, and assistant chat history as a JSON file.
Delete your account — from Settings → Delete Account, permanently delete your account and all associated data. This cannot be undone.
Unsubscribe — manage or cancel your subscription any time via your Apple ID subscription settings.

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your journal, tasks, mood logs, focus sessions, calendar events, chat history, and profile data from our servers.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures, including per-user access rules and encrypted connections, to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
